Clinic level soccer teams are single sex and organized by grade and usually by school.
Clinic 6 kids are first graders and Clinic 7 kids are second graders. When the teams are made,
GCVSA tries to group children by schools so that the child probably knows someone on his or her
team. If there are no other kids from that school or it was a late registration, GCVSA will try
to place the player on a team with kids that live near the player. GCVSA realizes that
socialization is an important aspect of playing on a team.
Coaches determine practice days. Prior to the season opener, your child's coach
will call and introduce him or herself. S/he will give the details of the first practice,
at which the coach will give out the game schedule, the "Picture Day" flyer and uniform.
GCVSA uniforms consist of socks, shorts and a jersey.
For each game, players are required to wear the uniform and shin guards. Players should bring a water
bottle and a size 3 soccer ball.
Cleats or turf shoes are recommended but not required. In colder weather, wear a long sleeve shirt or sweatshirt
under the jersey.
All games will be held on Saturdays and Sundays at the GCVSA Complex located behind Bryn Mawr Rehab.
Check the field map for where your games will be played.
The complete game schedule will be posted on the website as will any rainout information.
Each game will have 2 25 minute halves and each team will have 6 players and a goalie out on the field.
The coaches will referee Clinic 6 games and GCVSA will provide an official for Clinic 7
games.
