Division Level Information/FAQ

Registering for Division Level Rec. Soccer
Download form(s) from the registration forms page.
January 31st is the deadline for Spring Soccer.
June 30th is the deadline for Fall Soccer.
No carpool requests will be honored on late registrations.

Late Registrations
Late registrations incur late fees and possibly waiting lists. No special requests will be honored on late registrations. GCVSA will do what it can to find a spot for your child.

Start Dates and Season Length
Prior to the season, the official start date for Rec. soccer will be posted on GCVSA.org. Fall season usually starts the weekend after Labor Day and runs approximately 8 weeks. Spring season begins the first or second weekend in April, field conditions permitting, and runs approximately 8 weeks. The start and finish of the seasons are affected by the weather and the actual dates for Memorial Day and Labor Day.

Rosters and Schedules
Parents can and should use the rosters page to find their child’s team and schedule. Depending on the age group, the coach may or may not contact players before the first game.

Age Groups and Team Placement
Division level teams are single sex and coaches pick their teams at a draft meeting. Late registrations will be placed where there is space on a team.

Division I is 3rd/4th graders
Division II is 5th/6th graders
Division III is 7th/8th graders
Division IV are 9th-12th graders.

Practices
Division level coaches usually will hold a separate practice during the week. The coach will determine the weekday, location and time of the separate practice.

Uniforms
GCVSA uniforms consist of socks, shorts and a jersey and will be distributed by your coach. For each game, players are required to wear the uniform and shin guards. Players should bring a water bottle and a size 4 soccer ball for Division I and II. Division III and IV use a size 5. Cleats or turf shoes are recommended but not required. In colder weather, players can wear a long sleeve shirt or sweatshirt under the jersey.

Games
All games will be held on Saturdays and Sundays at the GCVSA Complex located behind Bryn Mawr Rehab. Check the field map and schedules for your game dates, times and locations. All games will officiated by a league referee.

Div. I games are 25/half and 8v8 players.
Div. II games are 30/half and 8v8 players.
Div. III games are 35/half and 11v11 players.
Div. IV games are 35/half and 11v11 players.

Rainouts and Raindates
Rainout messages will be posted on the GCVSA.org by 7AM on weekends. Schedules will have some raindate information, however continue checking the website as the season progresses.

Refunds will be given for medical reasons only. The medical occurrence must have happened before the first game is played at the start of the season. Requests for a refund must be made in writing and be accompanied by a physician’s statement. A $25.00 processing fee will be assessed on the registration fee for all refunds processed.
