Lacrosse 5th/6th Info/FAQ |

Coaches determine practice days. Prior to the season opener, your child's coach
will call and introduce him or herself. S/he will give the details of the first practice
where you will meet the other players and get a game schedule. Before the first game, the coach
will distribute the uniform shirts.
In the past few years, our 5/6 level teams have played games on our home fields and away at other clubs. Due to multiple activities of
the youth and family situations some teams were often in a situation where they were unable to field a complete team for away games.
Therefore, on the registration form there is an area to complete regarding "travel" games for 5/6 only.
Games which are played predominantly at home will be against other Greater Chester Valley teams,
with the possibility of some travel at the end of the season. The games, which are played
with a mix of home/away, will be predominantly played against other clubs, thus the competition level will
vary, and is more likely to be challenging.
Please note it is a request and every effort will be made to
honor car pool request along with travel game request. If there are any questions please feel free to
contact Kathy O’Donnell.
Players are required to have a colored, molded mouthguard, eye protection and a regulation
woman's or girls lacrosse stick. Mesh or boys lacrosse sticks
are not allowed. Cleats or turf shoes are recommended but not required.
Players without eye protection and colored mouth guards won't be permitted on the field.
Home games will be played on saturdays at the GCVSA Complex located
behind Bryn Mawr Rehab. Every effort is made to give each team equal amount of home and away
games. At this level, we play other area clubs and do play games against other CVGL teams too.
Check the field map for where your home games will be played.
The complete game schedule will be posted on the website as will any rainout information.
Each game will play 12 v 12 with 20-25 minute halves. There is modified stick checking in the 5th/6th grades
division and
all the league referees are certified.
